Amplamente utilizado no laborat\u00f3rio, pesquisa e desenvolvimento, controle de qualidade e processos de produ\u00e7\u00e3o, existem dois principais tipos de instrumentos de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de cor \u2013 color\u00edmetros e espectrofot\u00f4metros. Ambos medem a cor de um objeto, ou amostra; todavia suas capacidades e caracter\u00edsticas s\u00e3o muito diferentes.
