F&iacute;sicos te&oacute;ricos do NIST &ndash; National Institute of Standards and Technology, deram um grande passo na constru&ccedil;&atilde;o de objetos por f&oacute;tons, as part&iacute;culas da luz.<\/p>\n<p>Essas tentativas de se &ldquo;construir&rdquo; com luz n&atilde;o s&atilde;o novas. Na verdade, em 2013, colaboradores do MIT e da Harvard descobriram que eles podiam unir dois f&oacute;tons, um em cima do outro, enquanto eles se movimentavam.<\/p>\n<p>Agora uma publica&ccedil;&atilde;o pendente no Physical Review Letters, descreve como o NIST e a equipe de pesquisa da Universidade de Maryland fez pequenos ajustes no processo de uni&atilde;o de f&oacute;tons e conseguiram colocar os f&oacute;tons lado a lado. De forma similar ao processo do MIT em 2013, esta &eacute; a primeira vez que se pode demonstrar a uni&atilde;o de dois f&oacute;tons separados por uma dist&acirc;ncia finita. Ao colocar os f&oacute;tons lado a lado o processo criou efetivamente uma &ldquo;mol&eacute;cula&rdquo; de luz.<\/p>\n<p>Apesar de n&atilde;o podermos, do ponto de vista t&eacute;cnico e cient&iacute;fico, chamar isso de uma mol&eacute;cula, essa nova estrutura de luz representa o primeiro bloco de constru&ccedil;&atilde;o em potencial de novos sensores de luz, processadores de computador e tecnologia de imagem de alta defini&ccedil;&atilde;o e um ponto de partida de outros revolucion&aacute;rios avan&ccedil;os tecnol&oacute;gicos.<\/p>\n<p>Mas antes de ficarmos muito excitados com a possibilidade de cria&ccedil;&atilde;o de sabres de luz, mais trabalho &eacute; necess&aacute;rio para dar a esses modelos te&oacute;ricos, credenciais f&iacute;sicas. &Eacute; obvio que essa uni&atilde;o de f&oacute;tons requer condi&ccedil;&otilde;es extremas e s&atilde;o dif&iacute;ceis de se conseguir mesmo em laborat&oacute;rios. Ao que parece nossos sonhos de nos tornarmos cavaleiros Jedi ainda ter&atilde;o de esperar um longo tempo, mas a continuidade dos testes voltados a revelar os mist&eacute;rios da luz com certeza levar&aacute;
