A pesar que escaseaban los colores, la gente encontraba estos fuegos fascinantes, us\u00e1ndolos para ahuyentar esp\u00edritus malignos, honorar victorias militares, y animar ceremonias p\u00fablicas. No fue hasta despu\u00e9s que los fuegos artificiales se transformaron en el arte colorido que vemos en las fiestas y otras celebraciones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chispas de color<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En 1830, artistas italianos en el arte de fuegos artificiales aprendieron como crear color en las demostraciones de fuegos artificiales por medio de agregar sales metales a su composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica. Cuando se exponen a la llama, cada metal de sal produce ondas de colores espec\u00edficos. Por ejemplo, el sodio produce amarillo, el estroncio produce rojo, y el bario produce verde. Mezclar los qu\u00edmicos puede producir una gran variedad de matices, incluso el morado hecho de una mezcla de componentes de estroncio y cobre.
