Announcement of the Latest Firmware Release for Portable Spectrophotometers

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest firmware for our portable spectrophotometers.
This update applies to multiple models and is designed to enhance the reliability of measurement and evaluation, as well as to improve usability in daily operations.

Applicable models:
CM‑26dG / CM‑26d / CM‑25d / CM‑17d / CM‑16d / CM‑25cG / CM‑M6

In this update, new functions have been added to support a wider range of measurement needs, including remote color difference display mode and expanded support for light sources and evaluation indices. In addition, enhancements to user calibration and on‑device display functions make it easier to review and utilize measurement results directly at the instrument.
The firmware also incorporates strengthened security measures, helping to ensure the reliability of measurement data and device management.

Please note that dedicated content is available for the newly added evaluation indices—such as Blackness, Jetness, and Undertone—as well as for the expanded support of CIE LED illuminants. For more details, please refer to the links below.

“✓” indicates items newly supported in this update.

*1 Two types of average reflectance: (400–700 nm) and (360–740 nm). CM-25d /17d /16d support only 400–700 nm.
*2 Remote Color Difference Display Mode enables color difference measurement results calculated on the instrument to be viewed both in the SpectraMagic NX2 software and on the instrument display.
*3 Supports writing /reading on the main unit; diagnostic results for color and gloss are displayed separately on the main unit.
*4 CIE LED light sources include 9 types (LED-B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/BH1/RGB1/V1/V2).
*5 Change the setting range for user calibration data to 0.01%–150% (current: 50%–150%).
