Konica Minolta to Launch the CM-SA2 Skin Analysis Software

Konica Minolta to Launch the CM-SA2 Skin Analysis Software for Quantitatively Evaluating and Analyzing Skin Color as Well as Melanin and Hemoglobin Enabling Accurate Skin Analysis at Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Research Institutes, Including Universities

Ramsey N.J. (June 20, 2025) – Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced that the Company will launch the CM-SA2 skin analysis software.

Developed for use with Konica Minolta’s industry-leading spectrophotometers, CM-SA2 is now available. Building on the success of its predecessor, CM-SA, the new CM-SA2 software introduces advanced features tailored for cosmetic R&D, pharmaceutical testing, dermatological research, and academic institutions. It enables simultaneous measurement of Melanin Index, Hemoglobin (Hb) Index, and Hemoglobin Oxygen Saturation (Hb SO₂) Index, along with enhanced colorimetric data and graphing capabilities.

CM-SA2 represents a significant leap forward in skin analysis technology. With its intuitive interface, expanded language support, and powerful visualization tools like the ITA° graph, researchers and developers can now analyze skin tone and pigmentation with greater precision and efficiency than ever before.

Key Features of CM-SA2:

  • Real-time measurement of melanin, hemoglobin, and oxygen saturation
  • ITA° (Individual Typology Angle) graph for skin tone classification
  • Dual-axis graphing for simultaneous color and biomarker analysis
  • Outlier detection and data averaging for improved accuracy
  • Camera viewfinder support (CM-17d) for precise measurement positioning
  • Multilingual interface: English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Korean
  • CSV export for seamless data integration

The CM-SA2 is compatible with the CM-17d, CM-16d, CM-700d*, CM-600d*, CM-2600d**, and CM-2500d** spectrophotometers. The software is available as a perpetual license with no dongle required, and can be downloaded directly from Konica Minolta’s Global Core website
