About Our Event
The 2018 Annual Conference will endeavor to bring experiences, education, networking and inspiration together to foster personal and career growth. The theme of this year’s conference is “Light Balance.”
The Illuminating Engineering Society’s Annual Conference August 9-11 in Boston Massachusetts provides a range of educational programming—including workshops, seminars, immersive experiences, tours, networking, and paper and poster presentations—on the art, design, science, and research of lighting relevant to lighting professionals, educators, and related design disciplines. As always, professional education is paramount, with a broad selection of CEU credits available through participation at the conference.

The CL-200A chroma meter is the successor to the CL-200. It can measure the color temperature, illuminance, chromaticity, excitation purity, and dominant wavelength of various light sources.
CL-500A Illuminance Spectrophotometer
The CL-500A is a lightweight, compact illuminance spectrophotometer used for the evaluation of high-class, next-generation lamps such as LED and EL illumination.
The CL-70F CRI Illuminance Meter is used for the measurement and evaluation of the illuminance, color temperature, and color rendering index (CRI) of various illumination sources such as LEDs and fluorescent lamps.
CS-160 Luminance and Color Meter
The CS-160 is a lightweight, compact and battery powered luminance and tristimulus colorimeter for the measurement of a wide range of luminance conditions and non-contact measurement of color.
A spot meter with a 1° acceptance angle, a minimum measuring area of 14.4mm, and a measuring range from 0.001 to 999,900 cd/m2.

Jay Catral
Jay started with Minolta’s Photographic Division in 1992. In 2002 he later transferred to, what was then, Minolta’s Instrument Systems Division as the Master Technician for the Service Department. Jay attended De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines majoring in Electronics Engineering with a minor in Communications. Currently, Jay serves as Technical Sales and Applications Manager for Canada, Texas and Southeastern United States.
Mark Lombardi
Mark is a graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey with a B.S. in Business. Prior to joining KMSA in 2014, he was working as a Support Engineer for Carl Zeiss in their North American Optical Sensing Systems, supporting their industrial inline VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer systems in the Glass, Pharma and Chemical industries. Mark was also part of the original Sensing group Minolta Corp. established in the early 1990’s when launching their first Industrial Light meters, Colorimeters and Spectrophotometers. Within the Minolta and now Konica Minolta Sensing America’s, Inc. organization, Mark has held positions as Master Technician, Service Manager and is currently the Technical Support manager of KMSA overseeing a team of Application Engineers that supports all Color and Appearance, Radiometric and Instrument Systems product lines in North America.
